MP for Chua Chu Kang (Yew Tee) Mr Alex Yam issued a warning to loansharks after a recent visit to the residents of Blk 528 Choa Chu Kang St 51.
Mr Yam had asked the police to expedite the installation of security cameras at the void deck after residents were harrassed by illegal moneylenders.
His full post is as follows:
It was a fruitful visit to Blk 528 Had the opportunity to update our residents that their request for a lift at the MSCP has been granted by HDB.
Also due to a recent spate of letters from loansharks to random units in the block, managed to have the police help bring forward the installation schedule for the security cameras at the void deck. Residents were glad to see the new security features.
More importantly I asked our residents to help our Choa Chu Kang NPC by also helping to look out for each other. Thank you to our volunteers and officers for walking the ground regularly.
