Block vists are an invaluable way of obtaining feedback directly from residents, and Ms Irene Ng, MP for Tampines GRC, had hoped to meet one particular resident during her recent visit.
This resident had written in to a newspaper to complain about the cleanliness in the estate. Ms Ng hoped to find out more so as to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, the resident was not at home when she dropped by his flat:
Chatted with residents of Blk 324 to find out if they have any feedback on the estate and/or government policies. Was looking forward to meet one particular resident on the eighth floor who has written to Lianhe Zaobao to complain about cleanliness issues. Unfortunately his daughter told us he was not home.
But a check with all the other residents revealed that they had no problem at all with the work of our cleaners. Indeed, their general feedback was that they are happy with the maintenance of the estate.
