TO: PEOPLE’S ACTION PARTY CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (CEC)
ATTENTION: CHAIRMAN KHAW BOON WAN
As we celebrate Singapore's 50th anniversary next year and the PAP's 60th anniversary this year, it is timely that we also consider the contributions of the many PAP pioneer members who had sacrificed and contributed to the party. Many are now frail and elderly but are still ardent supporters of the party having fought side by side with our party leaders in the earlier years of Singapore's independence.
Many are still serving loyally and unstintingly at our PAP branches without asking for any recognition. A significant number have served more than 30 years. Singapore would have been a very different place if they had not fought side by side with our leaders, first to secure independence and then to build a better life for all Singaporeans.
PAP commemorated its 60th year of founding at the Victoria Concert Hall.

We must understand the Package in order to explain it to our elderly at home: Baey Yam Keng.
The recommendations recognise that the Pioneer Generation has done much to build Singapore but do not enjoy high wages, CPF or Medisave.
The Seniors' Group calls for more financial support in healthcare in Pioneer Generation Package.
It is a package to take care of them for the rest of their time as Singaporeans: Chan Chun Sing.
