Minister Lawrence Wong

Mr Lawrence Wong was elected as the Member of Parliament for Marsiling-Yew Tee Group Representation Constituency in the 2015 General Election. He is concurrently the Minister for National Development, and also a member of the Board of Directors of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was previously a Member of Parliament for West Coast Group Representation Constituency and Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Mr Wong spent his earlier professional life as a civil servant. He was previously Chief Executive of the Energy Market Authority, and the Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. Before that, he was the Director of Healthcare Finance at the Ministry of Health, where he implemented reforms to MediShield, to provide Singaporeans with better protection against large hospital bills.

At the community level, Mr Wong has been involved in youth work in church and voluntary organisations.  He co-founded a voluntary organisation to develop and mentor youths called PromiseWorks, which received the Outstanding New Volunteer Initiative award in 2003.

Mr Wong was educated at Tanjong Katong Secondary School and Victoria Junior College. He obtained his undergraduate and masters degrees in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. He also has a Masters in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Parliamentary Secretary Amrin Amin

Amrin Amin is Parliamentary Secretary for Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs. He is Member of Parliament representing Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (Woodlands) since 2015.

Prior to political office, he was a corporate lawyer at Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP specialising in mergers and acquisitions.

Amrin received his education at Dunman Secondary School and Tampines Junior College before reading law at National University of Singapore (Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Columbia University in New York (Master of Laws (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar)).

He enjoys history, movies, reading autobiographies and collecting newspapers during milestone events.
